neats-wilsonThe next person to arrive at Sue’s Blog Party is Neats Wilson. By her feet there’s a case of Barefoot White Zinfandel. Brilliant, that’s one of my favourites! Neats is holding a game called Cards Against Humanity. I’m rather intrigued to see what it’s all about. Whilst I do a quick Google search, Neats is going to take a seat on Debbie’s comfy sofa and show you her Q&As.

What is the first book you remember reading or having read to you? I always remember my dad reading stories from The Magic Roundabout at bedtime. It would get to a point where my dad couldn’t read for laughing so much. The one particular story that I do remember is where Brian the snail was a postman and Dougal got annoyed with him for some reason and he trapped him in his mailbag, my dad was laughing so much there were tears rolling down his face. Reading that back I think you had to be there at the time. Sadly, my dad is no longer here and I would love to be able to find a copy of one of these books but so far I haven’t had any success.

Who is your favourite literary character? Liesel from The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. This is one of my all-time favourite books and I love the fact that she rescues books and treats them like treasures.

If you could only take one book with you on a desert island, which would it be? OK, so this is probably cheating but I’d take my kindle! You didn’t specify a book title or that it had to be a physical book so I’ve opted for taking an eBook and I wouldn’t be able to read it without my kindle J

What are you currently reading? An ARC of The Food of Love by Amanda Prowse. I absolutely love her books and she is one of my go-to authors. I was totally star-struck when I was lucky enough to meet her and her lovely husband Simeon at the Guildford Book Festival a few weeks ago.

Who would be at your dream dinner party (alive, dead or fictional)? Marilyn Monroe because I’ve always been fascinated by her life and I’d love to find out the truth about what really happened to her, Bette Midler because she’s such an amazing singer, actress and comedienne. Amanda Prowse as I’d love to find out more about the inspirations behind her books, my husband because I love him dearly and he’s great company and last but by no means least my dad and my nan as I would love to have an opportunity to see them both again. I’d also sneak in Tom Hardy and Idris Elba as the waiters for the evening.

Thanks for those great answers, Neats. I  love the idea of your dad laughing as he read Magic Roundabout, what a lovely memory. By the way, what great choices for waiters at your dream dinner party. I am 100% in agreement there. *faints*

Having completed my search, I now know everything about the game you’ve brought with you. It sounds like we’re going to have fun with it – “Unlike most of the party games you’ve played before, Cards Against Humanity is as despicable and awkward as you and your friends.” Trust Neats! 😉
